Twitter and Web feeds are popular ways of getting information out to a subscribed user base.

Twitter messages are meant to be short and informal. Twitter was originally designed with the idea that messages should answer the question "What are you doing?" With rising popularity, however, Twitter has evolved into a quick news feed.

Web feeds include RSS and Atom syndication formats, and are mostly used to delivery news and blog posts. Many websites choose to only post summaries on the web feeds while providing a link to a website that contains the full article. This is done to reduce bandwidth and to expose readers to the advertisements that are available only on their websites.
