Linvo vs Porteus

Linvo and Porteus are Slackware-based Linux distributions. Linvo uses the GNOME desktop environment while Porteus uses KDE. Both are probably suitable for installation on a wide variety of computers and may appeal new and experienced Linux users alike. Many peripherals (wireless network cards, etc) will work "out-of-the-box" on these distributions.

Porteus was a project started by members of the Slax community after Slax stopped being maintained, and it continues to focus on a modular design. It comes with KDE3 on the 32-bit edition and KDE4 on the 64-bit edition. The 32-bit edition is only a 250MB download.
