Gtg vs zim

From WikiVS, the open comparison website
Jump to: navigation, search

This is about Getting Things Gnome (GTG) and Zim. Both are desktop wikis.

  • GTG focuses more on Getting Things Done. It's basically a To-Do-list where every Task is a wiki-article which may contain tags and time limits
  • Zim is a pure desktop wiki written in Python but it is extend-able. So there's a To-Do-List and Calendar implementations available.

[edit] Limitations

  • GTG can transfer tasks to hamster, a time tracker written for Gnome, Linux. Zim instead cannot. (yet)
  • GTG for MS Windows is currently in development. (gtgwin) Since Zim is written in Python, it is already available for MS Windows.
