Computers and Televisions are used for entertainment and for other purposes.

[edit] Information Sharing

Television is a form of broadcast medium. Computers can be used to convey information in a broadcast style (for example, cnn.com or hulu.com) and can also convey information in ways that treat all users as both recipients and information producers (for example, text documents, e-mail, or social networking sites). In the broadcast model, the vast majority of users are recipients of information but not content creators. In other models, each user is on a more equal footing. A person without academic credentials, wealth, or power may share information with just as many people as another who is more wealthy or more qualified.

[edit] Entertainment

Entertainment on a computer usually involves user participation. Computer games require input from the player to work, while watching television is more passive.
