Chromium and Firefox are Open Source internet browsers. Firefox has been downloaded more times than any other piece of Open Source software. Chromium/Chrome's popularity is growing more quickly than any other major internet browser.

- Chromium consumes more memory than Firefox, but starts up faster.
- Firefox 4.0's new JavaScript-Engine performs slower on certain benchmarks, although far better on others.
