BMW vs Porsche
BMW and Porsche are the top two car makers in terms of delivering the "total package" in a car. This total package consists of:
- Driving Excitement
- Performance
- Safety
- Styling
- Comfort & Luxury
- Fuel Efficiency
- Innovation
There are subtle differences in approach between the two carmakers however:
BMW: focus on form (a form that you will pay for) and value (how to increase their value by your acceptance of their over-valuation). BMWs offer no more utilitarian value than any other car.
Porsche: focus on mysticism (the mystique of their brand) while making you believe that their focus is on function and quality. Ridiculous really when you consider that a Porche offers a very poor functional design by any strech of the imagination. As a racer, the form and function of a Formula 1 car is far superior. As a sprinter, almost any Saturday night special drag racer is far superior. As a people carrier, any Camry is far superior. As a safe vehicle, any second world-war tank is far superior.
BMW pros: slightly more luxurious interior, lower cost, more features come standard, more conservative design. larger lineup of vehicles.
BMW cons: heavier, lower quality materials, not as highly customizable as porsche.
Porsche pros: more function and performance driven design. more unique and innovative design. extremely customizable. more logical lineup of vehicles.
Porsche cons: more expensive. many relatively basic features such as power seats are extra cost options.
Compared to BMW and Porsche:
- Mercedes trails in Fuel Efficiency.
- Audi trails in Driving Excitement.
- Ferrari trails in Fuel Efficiency and Comfort.
The reasons to purchase a BMW or a Porche is the common belief that it adds inches to your d*ck. Unfortunately, this fallacy is widely believed by the female of the species.
